As Head of Data & Analytics (m/w/d) you will be the strategic force behind all our data initiatives. You will shape our data warehouse, our analytics and BI landscape, as well as the technical foundation for reporting, forecasting, and later AI. You will build a team, processes, and structures, creating the foundation on which Creamy Fabrics scales.

Job requirements

  • Overall responsibility for building a modern, scalable data & analytics ecosystem - completely from scratch

  • Development of a central data warehouse / lakehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks)

  • Establishment of stable ELT/ETL pipelines including ingestion from marketing, webshop, CRM, ERP, fulfillment, finance & more

  • Design & implementation of clearly defined, consistent data models (Star Schema, Facts & Dimensions, SCDs)

  • Introduction of a future-proof transformation layer (e.g. dbt) with tests, CI/CD, and versioning

  • Establishment of a BI foundation with dashboards, KPIs, and self-service for leadership & all teams

  • Close collaboration with CTO, Finance, Marketing, Product, Logistics, and CS to embed data in business decisions

  • Responsibility for data quality, governance, security & PII handling

  • Translation of technical topics into clear business insights, you are the bridge between tech & business

  • Development of advanced analytics use cases (customer segmentation, forecasting, attribution, churn prediction)

  • Building, leading, and developing your own data team (Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Data Analysts)

  • Establishment of clear roles, responsibilities, development paths, and a modern team culture

WHY YOU FIT WITH US

  • Several years of experience as a Senior/Lead Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, Head of Data, or similar role

  • Deep understanding of modern data architectures (cloud, lakehouse, DWH)

  • Expertise in at least one central data warehouse: Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks

  • Very strong SQL skills: CTEs, Window Functions, Performance Tuning

  • Excellent Data Modeling: Star Schema, Facts, Dimensions, SCDs

  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools like Fivetran, Airbyte, Stitch, Meltano, as well as orchestrators (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect)

  • Cloud know-how (AWS, GCP, or Azure), especially Object Storage, IAM, Security & Compute

  • Solid experience in at least one BI tool (Looker, Power BI, Tableau, Metabase, or similar)

  • Good Python skills (pandas, numpy, automation, ML basics)

  • Knowledge in Data Governance, Testing & Monitoring (dbt tests, Great Expectations, Soda, or similar)

  • Ability to embed complex technical topics clearly & understandably for non-tech

  • Experience in People Management & Team Leadership

  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration and leading small tech/data teams

  • Ownership mentality, pragmatism & the desire to build a data-driven company

  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Product Analytics (Amplitude, Mixpanel, PostHog) and Experimentation (A/B Testing)
